Who am I? Where am I? And What am I doing here?

Suddenly the reality of my leap of faith has hit home. No more desk job, no more comfort zone. I have landed in the Toddler's Class. All 12 pairs of big eyes following my every move. This was not exactly what I had in mind! I smell like diaper, and I had a conversation with Wonder about him telling on me to his Mom, coz I wouldn't let him do what he wanted too. No to mention Prince Yosh who refused to get a table mat, determinedly saying "NO!" then hitting me in the face with his shoe. No this wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Sometimes faith is surrendering to the not knowing but doing it anyway. The Universe is laughing at me. I have started at the very beginning, a very good place to start. I did say I wanted to be the best...be careful what you wish for!

PHYSICAL

Neat and Tidy

No bright nail polish, excessive jewellery,  make-up of strong perfume, children are sensitive and easily distracted.

Beware of Negative Body Language

Eat healthy food in front of the children – Never Chew Gum!!

Arrive at work a head of time, prepare in advance

QUALITIES

Be mature, dignified and a good role model

Act with a level of authority for both children and parents

Always be gentle but firm,

Be Consistent

Allow the child to be independent.

Speak softly and with kindness (The only exception to this is if the child is in danger and you cannot get to him in time)

Listen with attention

Guide with love and compassion

Never be careless

Constantly update and evaluate record keeping

Free yourself from preconceived ideas

Leave the child to concentrate

Prepare and maintain the environment, updating the area regularly

Be a guardian for the child

Support when they need it and space when they need it
